หลังผ่านช่วงสูงสุดของวง Steve Perry นักร้องนำลาออกไปช่วงปี 1987 และมีนักร้องหลายคนหมุนเวียนกันมาทำหน้าที่ (Robert Fleischman และ Jeff Scott Soto) แต่ทางวงออกมายอมรับว่า ไม่มีใครทำได้ดีเท่า Steve Perry อีกเลย และล่าสุดนักร้องนำคนใหม่ที่เข้ามาแทน Jeff Scott Soto ที่ลาออกไปเมื่อปีที่แล้ว

เขาชื่อ Arnel Pineda ซึ่งเป็นชาวเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ฟิลิปปินส์ เพื่อนบ้านเรานี่เอง! โดย Neal Schon มือกีตาร์ Journey ได้เห็น Arnel Pineda ร้อง Cover เพลงของ Journey กับวงของเขา ผ่านทาง Youtube จากนั้นจึงได้ติดต่อ Arnel Pineda เข้ามา Audition และนำไปสู่การเซ็นต์สัญญาในที่สุด กลายเป็นข่าวดังทั้งในฟิลลิปปินส์และอเมริกาด้วย

แฟน Journey ส่วนหนึ่งดูเหมือนไม่ค่อยยอมรับ Arnel Pineda ซึ่งเป็นชาวเอเชียเท่าไหร่นัก นั่นเพราะเพลงของ Journey เป็นเสมือนสัญลักษณ์การใช้ชีวิตของชาวอเมริกันในช่วงยุค 80
การที่มีนักร้องเป็นชาวเอเชีย แถมหน้าตาเอเชียมากๆ ฝรั่งบางคนถึงกับรับไม่ได้ มีการโพส์ด่ากันในเวปทั้งเห็นด้วยและไม่เห็นด้วย แต่ทางวงก็ได้กำหนดออกอัลบั้มชุดใหม่ "Revelations" ที่เพลงใหม่ทั้งหมดร้องโดย Arnel Pineda พร้อมตารางทัวร์ 2008-2009 แล้ว (งานนี้สงสัยต้องดูกันยาว)

คนที่มีแต่ได้แน่ๆคือ Arnel Pineda เพราะนอกจากจะได้งานระดับโลกนี้แล้วยังต้องมีคิวออกรายการทีวีในอเมริกาหลายช่อง ดังไปเลย
Arnel Pineda พูดไว้ในรายการทีวีช่องหนึ่งว่า "คุณเคยดูหนังเรื่อง Rockstar ไหม? มันคือชีวิตจริงของผมตอนนี้เลย"

ซึ่งชุดนี้ ได้นักร้องคนใหม่ที่ร่วมทัวร์มาด้วยกันซักระยะนึงคือ Tim "Ripper" Owens อดีตนักร้องนำ Judas Priest, Iced Earth ส่วนสมาชิก line-up ที่อยู่ในห้องอัดด้วยกันมี Michael Troy มือคีย์บอร์ด Bjorn Englen มือเบส จะมีแต่มือกลอง Patrick Johansson ที่เคยมาเมืองไทยพร้อมชุดที่แล้วมาจาก line-up ทีมเก่า (แต่ก็ไม่แน่ใจว่าพอเสร็จจากสตูดิโอ ใครจะกระเด็นไปบ้าง) แฟน Yngwie ก็อดใจรอแป๊บนึงสำหรับงานชุดใหม่ กำหนดออกราวปลายสิงหาคมนี้
